Customizing BuzzStream to match your workflow

There are many ways that you can customize BuzzStream to support your business processes and to capture information unique to your business. In this article, we'll walk through some of the most common ways to do this.

The fields that are most commonly customized in BuzzStream are:

  • Creating a new custom field

  • the 'Relationship Stage' field

  • the 'Website Type', 'Person Type', or 'Link Type' field

  • the 'Acquisition Method' field for a Link

To customize any of these fields, follow these steps:

Click the gear icon in the bottom left-hand corner of BuzzStream.

Locate the 'Customize Fields' tab

Find the field you're customizing and click the 'pencil' icon.

Understanding the Relationship Stage field

Relationship Stage represents the path an opportunity goes through in a campaign. Each stage represents a stage in your workflow -- from composing an email, to sending it, to successfully/unsuccessfully getting a placement.

The Relationship Stage field includes a default set of stages, but depending on the type of campaigns you're running and the workflow for your team, you may want to customize the stages.

NOTE: For Website records, not all stages can be customized. This is because BuzzStream automatically changes the stage when an email is sent, an email is replied to, and when a link is discovered.
