Every BuzzStream plan includes a limit on the total number of contacts. A "contact" can be a person or a website.
Here's what counts toward that limit, and what it costs to increase it if you need more room.
What is a contact in BuzzStream?
A contact is a Website or Person.
BuzzStream charges you for whichever is larger, People or Websites, not both.
A single contact can be added to multiple Projects.
How to check your current usage
Every plan has a set contact limit which you can see right on our pricing page:
Remember, a contact is a Person or Website.
BuzzStream charges you for whatever is larger—people or websites—not both.
If you are the account owner, you can see the current contact count by clicking the gear icon, then Account Information:
You can also see your current usage by clicking on the address book icon on the left sidebar:
Choose Websites to see the total number of websites
Or choose People to see the total number of people
Whichever is largest is your contact count.
What counts toward your contact limit?
A contact starts counting the moment it is added to any project's Outreach List.
It keeps counting towards your contact limit until it is completely deleted from your database.
Do contacts in the Research tab count toward your contact limit?
No—not on their own.
But emailing a Website on a Research List automatically moves it to that project's Outreach List—at which point it begins counting toward the overall contact limit.
You might add Websites to the Research tab and then decide they aren't a good fit.
As long as a Website stays on Research Lists only—and has never been on an Outreach List in any Project—it doesn't count toward your contact limit.
Does removing contacts from a project reduce your contact count?
No.
Once a Website or Person has been on an Outreach List, it continues to count until it is fully deleted from your database, even after you remove it from the list.
Does archiving a project reduce your contact count?
No. Archiving merely hides data; it doesn't actually reduce the overall contact limits.
Does deleting projects reduce your contact count?
No, deleting Projects only removes project-specific data associated with those contacts.
The only way to delete a contact (Person or Website) is to remove them from the main database.
Does deleting people or websites reduce your contact count?
Yes, but be wary, because deleting Websites and People is permanent.
What to do if you've hit your contact limit
When you've reached a contact limit, you'll see an alert like this:
In this case, you have a few options:
1. Delete people and websites
Click the address book in the left-hand panel, then click Websites or People.
Then select any websites or people you wish to delete, click Edit, and then Delete.
2. Add contacts to your existing plan
For some plans, we offer the ability to add contacts for a fee.
To request a limit increase, reach out to us via Messenger or at help@buzzstream.com with your current limit and the new limit you'd like to move to.
We'll confirm the updated monthly cost before making any changes to your subscription.
3. Move to a higher plan
The larger plans have higher contact limits, which you can see on our pricing page:
You can see your current plan on the Account page.
